A boot room for a family of 5

There were a lot of coats, shoes, bags, wellies, hats and scarves etc for our family. Taking this unused store room and converting it into a boot room both tidied up the hallway and made school runs easier as everyone could easily find their belongings.

It’s an old house and the wall was poor quality in this room, the wood paneling both adds character as well as hides the imperfections of the wall.

Shelves above the coats add additional storage for the house.

It was a chaotic space, shoes, coats and bags piled up, it was hard to find what we were looking for in the morning.
The lime plaster walls were in bad condition. We chose to add wood panelling both to add a feature to the space as well as to hide the imperfections of the walls.
The Victorian shelves were a feature of the room. Matt repaired them and then we painted them to be cohesive with the rest of the room.
Now there's room for everyone's shoes, coats and bags. Plus, because each member of the family has a designated space, its easy to keep it tidy and to find things when you need them.
